Overview

Paralegal – General Liability
Houston, TX | General Liability

About the Opportunity

Kelley Kronenberg is expanding its General Liability practice in Texas and is seeking an experienced litigation paralegal to join our Houston office. This is a substantive, hands-on role on a busy defense team handling a diverse docket of general liability matters (premises liability, personal injury, products, and related claims) from inception through trial. We are looking for a seasoned professional who can independently manage a full caseload, anticipate what a file needs before it's asked for, and serve as a trusted right hand to our attorneys. If you take pride in running an organized, trial-ready file and want to do it at a firm that will invest in your growth, we want to hear from you.

Responsibilities

You will support attorneys across every phase of litigation, taking real ownership of your files rather than working task to task. That includes drafting, filing, and serving pleadings, discovery requests, and responses; e-filing in Texas state and federal courts; and managing document production, Bates labeling, and privilege logs. You will maintain and monitor case calendars and critical deadlines, coordinate and schedule depositions, mediations, hearings, and independent medical examinations, and prepare summaries of medical records, billing, and deposition testimony. You will also assist with trial preparation by organizing exhibits, coordinating witnesses and subpoenas, and building trial notebooks while maintaining regular, professional communication with clients, carriers, courts, and opposing counsel.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of litigation paralegal experience, preferably in general liability, insurance defense, or personal injury
  • Working knowledge of the Texas Rules of Civil Procedure and state and federal e-filing (eFileTexas / PACER)
  • Strong drafting, organizational, and calendaring skills, with meticulous attention to deadlines and detail
  • Proficiency with case management and document management software, as well as Microsoft Office
  • Ability to independently manage a high-volume caseload and juggle competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Paralegal certificate or Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Notary commission and trial experience are a plus

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive salary with an achievable annual bonus
  • Company-paid PPO health insurance, plus dental and vision options
  • Generous PTO, floating holidays, and dedicated mental health days
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • Ongoing professional development and room to grow
  • A diverse, inclusive, and genuinely supportive work environment
