Grow Your Insurance Coverage Practice with the Full Force of a National Platform

Location: South Carolina

Kelley Kronenberg is expanding its Insurance Coverage Practice across South Carolina and is seeking a Partner-level attorney with an established book of business and a vision for growth. This is an opportunity designed for attorneys who have outgrown their current platform, whether that's a solo practice, a boutique, or a mid-sized firm, and are ready to amplify their reach without sacrificing the autonomy that drives their success.

About the Opportunity

This role is built for attorneys who represent insurance carriers in coverage disputes, property claims, CGL policy matters, or complex commercial insurance, and who recognize that the right firm partnership can be a multiplier, not a constraint. You may be:

  • A solo practitioner or small-firm leader ready to stop managing overhead and start investing that energy into client development and high-value legal work.
  • A partner at a mid-sized or boutique firm who wants access to deeper bench strength, a broader client base, and sophisticated practice support without the politics of a legacy firm.
  • An experienced coverage attorney who wants a flexible, performance-driven model that directly rewards business generation and client retention.

Your Responsibilities

You will lead and manage complex insurance coverage matters for carrier clients while driving business development strategy to grow the firm's South Carolina presence. Day to day, that means drafting and delivering coverage opinions, advising clients through intricate policy interpretation and dispute scenarios, and representing clients in negotiation, mediation, and dispute resolution. You'll also collaborate with attorneys across the firm's national practice areas to deliver integrated, full-service solutions, giving your clients more reasons to stay and giving you more pathways to grow.

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active South Carolina Bar admission (or eligibility for prompt admission).
  • Minimum of six years of substantive experience in insurance coverage law, with a strong track record of providing coverage opinions for carrier clients.
  • A portable book of business with established client relationships.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop new business and deepen existing client relationships.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and entrepreneurial mindset.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Competitive base salary plus performance-based bonus structure
  • Firm-paid PPO health insurance, plus dental and vision options
  • Generous PTO, floating holiday, and mental health day
  • 401(k) with employer match
  • A diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment
  • Ongoing professional development and career advancement support

Perks of Partnership at Kelley Kronenberg

This isn't a lateral move. It's a strategic upgrade. You'll have access to:

  • Firm-funded infrastructure including dedicated marketing, practice management support, and business development resources so you can focus on practicing law and building relationships.
  • A performance-driven compensation model that rewards your book of business and your growth, not seniority or internal politics.
  • Autonomy within a collaborative culture: you run your practice your way, backed by a team that's invested in your success.
  • Professional development and profile-building support, including thought leadership opportunities, speaking engagements, and industry positioning.
