Client Intake Associate – Justice for Kids Division

About the Role

Justice for Kids, a national pro bono and for-profit law division advocating for injured, abused, or neglected children, is seeking a Client Intake Associate to serve as the compassionate first point of contact for prospective clients.

This role is central to our mission, ensuring that every potential client is welcomed with dignity and supported with care. You will be responsible for guiding individuals through the intake process, gathering relevant information, and collaborating with attorneys to determine case viability. Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the full client intake lifecycle across various channels (web forms, phone calls, emails, digital ad inquiries, etc.)

  • Respond to all new client inquiries 

  • Conduct needs assessments to evaluate whether prospective matters fall within our scope

  • Prepare detailed intake notes and present findings to attorneys, conducting research as needed

  • Identify and communicate any potential barriers to engagement (e.g., language access, transportation, mental health concerns)

  • Maintain and update CRM and case management systems in real time

  • Coordinate internal conflict checks and collaborate with legal teams on waivers or disclosures

  • Support administrative tasks and departmental projects as assigned

What We're Looking For

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in psychology, social work, legal studies, or a related field (preferred)

  • 3–5 years of experience in a law firm, client intake role, or legal advocacy setting

  • Prior experience in victim advocacy, case management, or social services (strongly preferred)

  • Familiarity with trauma-informed care principles is a major plus

Skills & Competencies:

  • Outstanding interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence

  • Strong writing and verbal communication, including legal terminology

  • High attention to detail and organizational precision

  • Ability to prioritize multiple client needs in a high-volume environment

  • Integrity, discretion, and strong judgment in sensitive client situations

  • Proficient with case management and CRM systems
