Overview

The Strategic Recruiting Business Partner will function as a critical member of Kelley Kronenberg’s wider Talent Acquisition team. The business partner will collaborate with the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Strategy Officer, and the Director of Talent Acquisition to identify priority hiring needs as well as develop a clear understanding of the requirements and expectations Kelley Kronenberg holds. The business partner will develop and implement creative strategies to identify, develop, and manage relationships with lateral partners with a portable book of business and/or existing team. This position requires the incumbent to be skilled at networking, relationship management and relationship development.

 

In this highly visible role, the business partner will be responsible for adding lateral partners to the firm who will continue to add value to the firm. The business partner will be actively engaged in building their network of candidates through the attending of local events, as well as  traveling to cities where the firm has other offices. This role would suit an agency recruiter looking for a more strategic position, or an in-house recruiter who is driven by growth and commercial impact. 

 

 

Essential Functions:

  • Partner cross functionally to understand the recruitment needs and legal practice areas across our global offices.
  • Develop and implement creative sourcing strategies to identify candidates and deliver against our hiring needs, in line with our diversity agenda (leveraging inbound, passive and active sources - including LinkedIn, networking, job boards, our applicant tracking system etc.).
  • Conduct initial screening calls with candidates, detailing the firm’s value proposition and coaching candidates on what to expect throughout the entirety of the interview process (including interview path, compensation expectations, interviewer feedback, and timing).
  • Providing funnel and pipeline metrics, relevant industry research, and other data to offer transparency to recruiters around search processes and the talent market.
  • Promote engagement with the firm referral program and utilize it in creative ways to build passive and active pipelines.
  • Complete market mapping and competitor analysis exercises to develop a better understanding of our competition and perception in the market, using this information to inform future recruitment efforts.
  • Work with Talent leadership and analytics to design and implement strategies to develop candidate pools for future needs. Work on communication strategies to engage these networks.
  • Supporting special projects as needed, including talent brand initiatives and candidate experience initiatives.

 

Competencies

  • Knowledge of the legal industry, and law firm structure
  • Legal recruitment experience highly preferred
  • Previous recruitment experience required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Working knowledge of all state and federal laws governing all aspects of talent acquisition.
  • Ability to work well in a team while also handling individual responsibilities.
  • Ethical in all actions personally and professionally.
  • Strong work ethic and lead by example.

  • Strong knowledge of standard sourcing practices utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter Seat and Indeed, preferred.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.

 

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

 

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. This position requires the ability to occasionally lift office products and supplies, up to 20 pounds.

 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

 

Travel
Travel to other offices is required.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required; JD highly preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience sourcing, recruiting or HR experience within an in-house, or agency environment.
  • Ability to develop remote relationships with candidates.
  • Strong, persuasive verbal and written communication skills
  • Poise, confidence, and maturity to interact with senior level, highly experienced attorneys.
  • Ability to work in a team environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, adapt quickly to changes and creatively problem solve.
  • Proactive, pragmatic, practical and task focused.
  • Highly organized and able to operate in a high pressure, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent systems skills including Outlook, Excel, and Word
